Preparation:
1. Stir the contents of the packet into 1/2 liter (500 ml) of cold water with a whisk and let it swell for 10 minutes.
2. With moistened hands, form 8 dumplings (if desired, press some toasted white bread cubes into the center of the dumplings).
3. Place the dumplings in boiling, lightly salted water (1 g of salt per 1 liter of water), bring to a boil briefly, and then simmer for about 20 minutes.
4. Remove dumplings from the water, place on plates and arrange as desired.
